The prestigious travel magazine Condé Nast Traveller has revealed its list of the 27 most beautiful places in Europe, and Montenegro’s own Bay of Kotor has proudly earned a spot among them.

Landing at number nine, the Bay of Kotor is celebrated for its breathtaking blend of natural beauty and cultural richness.

“Winding through the Dinaric Alps in Montenegro, the Bay of Kotor looks like the love child of a Norwegian fjord and a sparkling Italian lake resort. People come here not only for the water, but also for the towns, churches, and hotels that line both sides of the shore (though the water is, admittedly, quite spectacular),” writes Condé Nast Traveller.

Taking the top spot on the list is the island of Capri in Italy, followed by Germany’s fairytale-like Neuschwanstein Castle nestled at the foot of the Bavarian Alps. Other highlights include the hidden beaches and turquoise bays along Albania’s southern coast and the dramatic cliffside monasteries of Meteora, Greece.
